Spotlight on: John Bourke

WIBF Ireland's November 2006 Event: Neuro Linguistic Programming with John Bourke

John Bourke is a NLP Trainer.

He qualified as a Solicitor in 1977 and started his own Practice in 1980. He qualified as a Chartered Arbitrator in the 1990's and has vast experience as an Arbitrator. He has always been interested in people and what makes them tick and was drawn to NLP, a practical behavioural branch of Psychology.

He qualified as a NLP Practitioner, subsequently as a Master Practitioner and most recently as a NLP Trainer.

John was curious to see if he could use his newly found skills to make changes in his own life and in the life of his family. He has found that his ability to understand how people process information, and how useful that is in a family environment, has had a profound effect both on his and his family's relationships.

John has used his NLP skills to transform his legal office from a general practice to a boutique practice that specialises in being business/legal advisers to its clients. In a time when the public are critical, not only of solicitors in general, but also of their own solicitor, John has bucked the trend and built strong personal relationships with all the clients associated with the practice. He intends in the future to run seminars on client relationships for those solicitors/business people who want to build long term relationships with their clients.

John is a keen golfer and has used his NLP skills to transform his golf and to reduce his handicap to that of a category one golfer. Furthermore, he has worked with a number of the teams in his golf club as a 'Sports Psychologist' and has helped the teams (men's and women's) in his club to play in six All Ireland finals (he played in three of them) in the last four years. The club won three of the finals. Prior to John's involvement, no team in his club had ever competed in an All Ireland final. John’s skills as an NLP Sports Psychologist are now in great demand and he is currently working with Ireland’s foremost golfing coach teaching his pupils the mental side of the game.

‘The next challenge is just around the corner.'
